SPECIAL BONUS: My attempt at Olivia Wilde's face |
For this, I challenged myself to upgrade my hand-drawing skills, so I took it upon myself to draw George Bridgman's "Book of One Hundred Hands" IN IT'S ENTIRETY as an effort to level up. I also wanted to work on my line quality, and decided to use a "Point of No Return" medium--PEN! I also decided to post (nearly) ALL the drawings in order as a means to demonstrate my gradual growth over time. In the beginning, it took me too long a time to draw the hands and it was difficult in HOW to approach drawing hands. By the end of this, I could produce numerous hands on a single sheet much more rapidly than before. To that end, it also upgraded my skills in drawing other parts of the body--the approach may not be the same, but it's SIMILAR to constructing the hand. I've also learned that drawing hands for an artist is like practicing chords for a guitarist--practice every day no matter how skilled you are. Next up will be George Bridgman's "The Human Machine," followed by Bridgman's "Human Anatomy." Thanks for taking a look at my work!
ReplyDeleteThis is great work! Makes me pumped up to draw hands and feet. I just recently drew something and realized how out of practice I've been. I'm really proud of your growth dude. One day when we're famous, I can write a graphic novel and have you draw them. Our fans we squeal like,"My two favorite artists actually collaborated and are old friends! This is like Batman and Superman!"
